We believe in a collaborative approach to training and work with our clients to deliver relevant, engaging and meaningful packages

We care and are deeply passionate about raising mental health awareness and empowering individuals to open and develop these conversations. We bring over 20 years of experience covering training, facilitation, communication, mental health awareness and diversity and inclusion.
We believe in working collaboratively with a consultative approach so that we can produce the best possible solution for our clients.
We believe that training should be empowering, engaging and fun, we work with organisations to ensure that the training delivered is right for them and their culture.

We want to provide the highest quality products, to do this we are members of the CPD Certifications service so that we can independently validate our training. We are approved Mental Health First Aid England Instructors and Nuco First Aid for Mental Health Instructors. We are constantly committed to developing our own expertise and regularly attend courses and training to up-skill and ultimately improve the products we deliver to our clients.

Who we are

The Inclusion Initiative was created by Jules Parkinson-Thake and Emma Nixey driven by their passion and commitment to creating inclusive workplaces where mental wellbeing is paramount.

 

Both Emma and Jules bring a wealth of expertise to The Inclusion Initiative. Former police officers, they worked for the Metropolitan Police service for 20 years combined. During that time, they both performed a variety of roles, being instrumental in the training and development of a unique Special Constables unit. Between them they received separate commendations for their leadership and bravery during their policing careers.

Using their knowledge and experience, they have created an organisation which can offer the two day mental health first aid course (accredited by the MHFA) to any organisation. They can also offer bespoke sessions focused on workplace wellbeing and mental health. For bespoke sessions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Mental Health First Aid England has allowed Emma and Jules to deliver Adult MHFA courses.

Emma Nixey

After leaving the Police, Emma carved out a successful career as an CIPD trained learning and development professional, working with Special Olympics GB, she was responsible for the development and delivery of the training for over 1000 volunteers for the National Games in 2017. Since then she has continued creating, developing and delivering engaging training for many organisations on a variety of topics.

Jules Parkinson-Thake

Jules left the police and further developed her Equality, Diversity, Inclusion credentials whilst working for an LGBT Charity she specialised in advancing LGBT Inclusion in the workplace by working closely with over 50 organisations from a variety of sectors, including STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths), construction, property, financial services and professional bodies. She has delivered training, facilitated workshops, been a panel speaker & spoken at various workplace conferences all within the realms of diversity and inclusion, including mental health.

Mission

To engage and support as many organisations as possible in mental health training and awareness. To empower individuals to talk openly about mental health and support those around them, to help eradicate the stigma attached to it.

Vision

A world where all organisations have trained mental health first aiders. Where people are able to talk about their mental health freely and be met with support not judgement. That organisations and employees are equipped to support employees living with a mental health condition.
